The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing direct patient care, coordinating treatment plans, and ensuring high standards of clinical practice in accordance with healthcare regulations and organizational policies. The RN collaborates with physicians, healthcare professionals, and support staff to deliver safe, effective, and patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities
Patient Care
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans based on clinical assessments and physician orders.
Monitor patient health status, vital signs, and response to treatments.
Administer medications, IV therapies, and other treatments safely and accurately.
Provide wound care, infection prevention, and other nursing interventions as needed.
Clinical Documentation
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
Record patient histories, assessments, care provided, and patient responses to treatment.
Ensure compliance with regulatory and organizational documentation standards.
Collaboration and Coordination
Work closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to care planning.
Communicate patient status and treatment updates to appropriate healthcare team members.
Patient and Family Education
Educate patients and families about medical conditions, medications, and treatment plans.
Provide guidance on post-discharge care, lifestyle modifications, and disease prevention.
Answer patient questions and address concerns to promote understanding and compliance.
Quality and Safety
Follow infection control procedures and safety protocols.
Report patient safety concerns, incidents, or adverse events in accordance with facility policy.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education programs.
Requirements
Qualifications
Education
Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited nursing program.
Licensure
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) may be required depending on department.
Experience
Prior clinical nursing experience preferred but not required for entry-level positions.
Experience in hospital, outpatient, or long-term care settings may be preferred.

Work Environment
Hospitals, clinics, long-term care facilities, outpatient centers, or community health settings.

Ability to stand or walk for extended periods.
Capability to lift or assist patients (up to approximately 50 lbs with assistance).
